Roll-Up Clerk Operator



1) Production line start up and changeover

  • Assist with getting web started through line.
  • 1 Bag all open fiber

    2 Feed and accompany fiber through line

  • Prepare roll-up area for production
  • 1 Check operation of rolls

    2 Check operation of hot wire/cut off

    3 Check operation of yardage counter

    2) Manufacturing and Quality Assurance procedures

  • a) Check the width of the material at least 2X/doff.
  • b) Constantly check for defects such as dirt, streaks, holes, color variation thickness, coning, etc.
  • c) Constantly monitor length counter to determine correct length of each roll.
  • d) Confirm length accuracy off line.
  • Place correct label and close bag with wire tie.
  • Weigh every bag for adherence to specified bag weight.
  • Load material for warehouse personnel on carts.
  • 3) Housekeeping

  • Keep roll-up clean and free from obstructions.
  • Assist in keeping waste material baled.
  • Clean all liquid spills immediately.
  • 4) Downtime and end of shift

  • a) Clean the floor area of side trim, loose fiber, and seconds.
  • b) Clean fiber room roll-up aprons, shafts, and sprockets.
  • c) Clean exterior of guards and machines.
  • d) Clean fiber room floor aprons, needle tacker and Rando aprons.
  • e) Clean spray station aprons.
  • f) Clean cat walks and under all machines
  • Clean the floor on the entire length of both sides of the line.
  • Wash all handrails, guards, and Plexiglas.
  • Mop floor.
  • 5) General

  • a) May be called on to perform other duties not described in the above specification.
  • b) Physical requirements as on the task assessment or as required by FGTM management.
  • c) Complete all required paperwork.
  • Skills and Experience-

  • Able to communicate and understand written and spoken English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Manufacturing experience desired
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Able to work overtime on short notice, as needed.
  • Able to perform tasks safely while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • May require standing for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Able to punctually report to work daily or as scheduled.

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
