Description:
This position is for a Fire Protection Engineer to work at the nuclear sites. This individual will work for the Site Programs Engineer and supplement the site Fire Protection Engineer and Safe Shutdown Engineer. Working with the Fire Protection Engineers and Safe Shutdown Engineers will be critical to accomplishing project NFPA 805 objectives and supporting the site fire protection activities at the site. The focus of this position will be to support the NFPA 805 activities such as calculation reviews and approvals, design basis document development and review and regulatory document changes. This person would attend NFPA 805 schedule meeting and provide updates.
Specifics roles, accountability and duties include:
1. Support the site Fire Protection Engeer and share his duties
2. Provide support for the normal duties of the Fire Protection Engineer
3. Provide updates to the NFPA 805 project schedule
4. Work with site Fire Protection Engineers (FPE) & Safe Shutdown Engineers (SSE) to complete project tasks
5. Work closely project vendors AREVA, Hughes, and ERIN to resolve issues and meeting project schedule
6. Participate in the development and/or revision of engineering documents and procedures
7. Review calculations and approve when calculation qualified
Minimum
Qualifications:
1. 4 year engineering degree
2. Minimum of 5 years nuclear power plant experience.
3. Minimum of 2 years as a Fire Protection Engineer at a nuclear plant
4. Experience working with engineering calculations and design basis documents
5. Experience coordinating engineering activities
6. Can meet company Nuclear security requirements for unescorted access to nuclear sites.
Key attributes that we will look for and use to screen out applicants:
1. Must have Fire Protection experience at a nuclear power plant (if this person doesn?t, they will be screened out)
2. Should have Fire Protection program management experience; and not system? only experience
3. Should have a fire protection degree
4. Should have NFPA 805 fire protection program experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
