The Continuous Improvement Technician position will be responsible for driving the implementation and advancement of the continuous improvement culture in the York facility through the implementation of actions to improve work processes, increase employee suggestion implementation, increase machine efficiency and improved value-added plant activities.
Core
Responsibilities:
Following all site safety rules and safe operating practices.
Report all accidents and near miss incidents immediately.
Meeting all site attendance expectations.
Being an active and engaged participant in the site CI efforts, including employee suggestion implementation and active participation in PIE/kaizen events.
Implement improvements (Install 5S tool boards, assemble communication and KPI boards, build parts and material handling racks, labelling floor and other 5S markings).
Maintain excellent housekeeping at all times.
Additional Attributes:
Job function may include jobs associated with minor maintenance and material handling.
Be an effective team member and help others within the team when needed.
Continuous Improvement Technician
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Partner with Operations to identify and drive improvements on a monthly basis.
Lead and coordinate CI suggestion and implementation activities.
Partner with Operations to enhance value of department activities.
Lead site improvement projects.
Team with operators, maintenance and engineers to drive process improvement and machine efficiency improvements.
Participate in assigned training.
Actively participate and lead Cummins OE / MPS training, set up reduction training etc.

Qualifications and
Experience:
Two years manufacturing experience within the York Facility.
A comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of York's production processes and products.
Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
Good attendance history.
Strong mechanical aptitude, including assembly, working with a variety of tools, etc.
Ability to work with a variety of materials including metal, wood, plastic (cutting, assembly, etc.
).
Creative problem solving with input from other functional groups.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated and active leadership in current CI activities.
Proficiency with basic computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated leadership and high performance.
Education/Certifications:
A High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
